Romeo vs. Mr Darcy Part 2

Saturday, 21 March 2009

Let's settle this once and for all: who is better, Romeo or Mr Darcy? The battle to end all battles.

Rules:
Each team starts with 10 points, and points are added and deducted based on whatever I feel like.

Let the games begin!

Romeo swings from being madly in love with Rosaline to Juliet in a matter of second. No girl wants that in a guy. -2 points.

But Mr Darcy starts off rather snobbish, thats not exactly a turn on. -3 points.

Romeo knows how to party... or at least disguise himself to infiltrate enemy lines. +1 point.

Mr Darcy can banter with Elizabeth, and somehow still fall in love with her. +1 point.

Romeo pledges to marry Juliet after only knowing her a few hours... talk about jumping the gun. -2 points.

And Mr Darcy proposes to Elizabeth after not seeing her for a couple of months... proof that he still loves her, despite the distance. + 3 points.

... Mr Darcy can dance too. +1 point.

But Romeo has a way with his words... +2 points.

...But he's also pretty dumb... - 3 points.

Mr Darcy is one step ahead there, he's very intelligent. +2 points.

Romeo, unfortunantly, kills part of Juliet's family. Now, that's not cool at all. -4 points.

Mr Darcy writes a letter to Lizzie, explaining everything that had been muddled. How sweet. +1 point.

Romeo gets banished. Meh... some like a bad boy. no points lost or gained.

Mr Darcy isn't afraid to admit his mistakes and wants to change himself to win Lizzie back. +3 points.

But Romeo can't stand to live without Juliet, and kills himself. +1 point.

..... But he's an idiot because Juliet was never dead. -3 points.

Mr Darcy ends the story alive, changed and in love with Lizzie. +3 points.

In terms of the films, Romeo gets played by Leonardo DiCaprio. +2 points.

But who can go past Colin Firth? He was MADE to play Mr Darcy. +4 points.

And the final scores are:
Romeo: 2
Mr Darcy: 25

Finally we have a winner to the age-old question: Mr Darcy kicks Romeo's butt.
