Happy what!?

Wednesday, 31 October 2007

First of all, Happy Birthday Barry. 15 at last. Oh whoops, not 15 but rather 16!

I had no idea...

Really. This morning was the first time I was told that Sir Barry is exacally a year and 20 days older than me. I'm freakin out here.

I don't really know why. Maybe just the shock of it all.

I just never knew.... was never told.... whatever it's all the same to meee!

Thr3e

Tuesday, 30 October 2007

The protagonist is Kat, a fourteen-year-old high school student who one day receives a unique feeling while her mother is driving. The thought on the other end identifies himself as Mocha, and tells Kat that she has three minutes to confess her true feelings to the world or the car will explode. What follows is a cat and dog chase with Kat, her childhood friend Jessica, and FBI agent Stacey struggling to keep up with the clues Mocha sends their way; clues that lead to the most confusing events. Throughout all of this, Kat, Mocha, and Stacey find that they have more in common than any of them would have imagined.

Sounds like a thriller eh? Well I wrote the story Thr3e by ted Dekker

Oh and I'm Ted Dekker by the way. I currently live in the hills of Colorado, US with my wife Jennifer and two kids Dory and Michael. Oh and our dog Rufus. And I live in alternate universes. When I'm wake, I live in this realm. But when I sleep I get transported to another universe when I'm a man and am Ted Dekker. But noone believes me. Except for the FBI.

Nah... jokes. But thats what Hockers and Jason call me anyway lol. It original started sometime this year when Hockers "accused" me of being a Talking Dictionary. Then shortened to T.D. and Finally Ted Dekker became my name. Well at least I'm not a load of Verbal Diaoria (with Hocker is)!

Ah good old Ted Dekker.

In a mental debate where I always lose

Saturday, 27 October 2007

Hmm....... which way do I go? Left? Or maybe right? What is the right thing? I don't know anymore!

Do I finally break away from those stupid sterotypes and dye my hair brown? Or do I stay boring Kathryn with her even boringer blonde hair?

Do I make a move and risk looking like a absolute loser? Or do I sit back and let my chances and oppotunities pass me by?

Both questions offer two sides of me. On one side we have a Kat that would be willing to make a risk. Yet on the otherside is just plain old boring me.

So many questions I wish someone else could just tell me what to do. Otherwise such great oppotunities could never come again.

Just one of those days...

Friday, 26 October 2007

You know it's going to be "one of those days" where nothing goes to plan when it's only 7.52am and you've already:
1. Tripped over the vaccum cleaner
2. Kicked the vaccum cleaner in rage
3. Got your self into a fit of rage
4. You have one of the busiest days ahead of you
5. And even music therapy isn't working on you
Oh and... 6. the STUPID keys on your NEW laptop aren't working so every second word you have to go back and type the word again to make even vague sense

Why? Oh why? Why? Why? WHY!? GAH!

*sigh*

I guess it's just one of those days......

Who knows... ME!?

Saturday, 20 October 2007

Yes, a recent very random, yet disturbing thought( well aren't most?!) : who really knows ME!?!?

I suppose the only true answer is Jess, Stacey, Jesse, Bec, Hayley, Terri and Sam. They see me as the annoying person who is totally random, yet can also be a quite nerd.

Whilst there is Kaitlyn who is my best friend and has never seen my full weirdness.

Then we have all my other classmates who see me as a quiet nerd.

And next we have Jason, Daniel, Mason etc who see me as little miss up-herself.

Teachers see me as a brown-noser

And I see myself and all of these. But why cant I just be NORMAL!?!?! Why do only certain people see different aspects of me? *sigh* Life would be a lot easier if I was normal around everyone. But what IS my normal!? Everytime I go slightly normal around Jason, he tells me to get back in my hole and start being quiet again, but other times he tells me to be louder! Maybe thats just him? *deep sigh*

I killed the rice...

How to maintain a messy bedroom

Wednesday, 17 October 2007

1. Only wear clothes once
2. Place all item of clothing randomly in to center of your room, even if you've worn them or not
3. Leave books, paper and rubbish on your desk -- adds to the "creative genius" look
4. Always allow your bin to overflow
5. Under NO circumstances can you make your bed
6. Leave shoes + socks in exacally the same spot you took them off
7. Decorative towels look good scrunched up on the floor
8. Whilst old tissues go good on bed side tables
9. There is no need for a bookshelf- the floor acts in the same way
10. Chest-of-draws look better when all draws are open, pluss it makes it easier to find clothes

Rarely, Seldomly, Never

It may interest you to know that life is in fact not at all like the books we all intend to read or write. As a matter of fact, most book are the complete opposite of our real world. There are several categories that fall under the radar of "non-realistic". Such as:

Fantasy:
These stories involve magical creatures- most unlike our own. Where enchanted princesses go on epic tails after another equally unlikly witch with (you may note) warts and looks like the wrong end of a camels turd. All books that fall under this genre are at some point to also feature the princesses "Mr. Right" aka Prince Charming. When was the last time you went on a quest through the deepest, darkest woods in all the land, battled the giant dragon and as fate would have it, Prince Charming would come gallabanting to your rescue. And if that wasn't farfetched enough, lets throw in a "happily ever after" where you and your prince are destine to live a happy life with no ups and downs for eternity. Likely? NOT!

Mystery:
Next lets move onto a equally unrealistic genre called mystery. We enter a world detectives and wild clues that always help conqure over evil and, enevitably, save the day. In this genre, we firstly have our oh-so smart, perfect detective who is our protaganist. Next, we throw in the evil genius who is trying to evade the police (or something) and happens to leave all the clues in exacally the right places so our detective finds them in just enough time to yet again save the day. Gosh that Mr. Mystery would be perfect for our modern day, realistic life. I'm sure the police of every city or town would want some of him to overcome evil down on the highway.

Romance:
The most unrealistic of the lot. You shall find here the beautiful young woman who, where ever she goes, bumps into Mr. Right. And after she gets herself into a spot of trouble, guess whos there- HIM! Oh My! Coincidence? Then you know the rest, they fall madly in love and there's that phrase- they live happily ever after and have a few kids on the way.

Ok, so you now admit that the books we all read are a load of unrealistic nonsense. But why do we read and love them so? Well simply because they offer us a version of life that is far better than our current one. We crave to be different from the monotonous life of humankind. We crave to be happy. To overcome our struggles.

But why do we raise our hopes so high that when life does occure, it's nothing like the books we read when we were younger. For some of us, prince charming may never be in your life. You won't get noticed and get the payrise you think you deserve. You wont even get the courage to talk to "Mr. Right" who has the looks. Maybe life wont even pan out as you wanted. You may find yourself pregnant at 15. Or you and your family forced onto the street when mum or dads job falls through or your house gets burnt. We won't always be living in peace with our family or friends.

As for the question about why we raise our hopes for life, well I can't answer that. But I have one last word:

READ BIOGRAPHIES! THEY ARE MORE LIKE LIFE!!!
